‘Big Bang Theory’ star Kate Micucci reveals lung cancer diagnosis

Kate Micucci, best known for “The Big Bang Theory,” has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

On Saturday, Micucci, 43, posted a video on TikTok captioned, “an update on what I’ve been up to.”

“Hey everybody, this is not a TikTok, it’s a ‘Sick Tok.’ I’m in the hospital but it’s because I had lung cancer surgery yesterday,” she went on.

“They caught it really early. It’s really weird, because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so uh, you know, it was a surprise.”

The actress and comedian, who has a 3-year-old son with musician husband Jake Sinclair, 38 (who has written and produced with artists such as Taylor Swift, Weezer and Panic! At the Disco), played Lucy on the hit CBS sitcom.

Lucy was an awkward woman that Raj (Kunal Nayyar) met at a single’s party.

They had a romance in “The Big Bang Theory” Season 6 before she eventually dumped him.

Even after that, she still appeared on Season 7 and came back for Season 10.

She’s also appeared in “Scrubs,” “Raising Hope,” “Steven Universe” and she’s voiced Velma in the “Scooby-Doo” franchise since 2015.

“But also I guess it happens,” she said in her video, referring to non-smokers getting lung cancer.

“And so the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out, I’m all good.”

In the comments section on the video, she clarified how she learned about her diagnosis.

“I had one thing in my bloodwork that came back really high … It was HCRP … not sure what that is exactly but I guess it means there is inflammation somewhere,” Micucci said. “So I went to a preventative doc who did a few scans. He scanned my heart and that’s where the spot in my lung was noticed.”

“I’m happy for early detection!!! Heal well,” one fan wrote in the comments, while another wrote, “Glad they caught it early. Get lots of rest and be gentle on yourself when you do a lot of thinking about it in the days to come.”

“It’s been a little bit of a trip and [I’ll] probably be moving slow for a few weeks but then I’ll be back at it,” Micucci said in the video.

“Why am I still talking … ‘cause I’m on drugs!” she finished her announcement.

Micucci ended the video with a shot of her walking down a hospital hallway with an IV, telling a nurse, “I’ve got to say, the artwork here is pretty nice.”
