Billie Eilish says dreaming about Christian Bale led to a breakup: ‘Came to my senses’
Billie Eilish credits Christian Bale for helping her realize her boyfriend wasn’t meeting her superhero standards.
In a new interview with “Chicken Shop Date” host Amelia Dimoldenberg, the 22-year-old “Bad Guy” singer and her brother and collaborator Finneas, 26, got on the topic of superheroes.
Eilish admitted she doesn’t “know much” about the genre but claimed Bale in “The Dark Knight” is “the one” and her “favorite.”
“I gotta be real,” she confessed, “A couple years ago, I had a dream about Christian Bale, and it was in a little cafe in the sunlight, and it made me realize I had to break up with my boyfriend at the time,” Eilish said as they all burst into laughter.
“No, like, genuinely. I woke up and I was like [gasps] and I came to my senses,” the “Happier Than Ever” singer recalled.
Eilish’s most recent public relationship was with Jesse Rutherford of the Neighbourhood for less than a year in 2023. The couple faced backlash for their romance due to their 10-year age gap which they poked fun at on Halloween when Eilish wore a baby costume and Rutherford dressed as a wrinkly old man.
She also dated actor Matthew Tyler Vorce from 2021 to 2022 but they broke up amid cheating rumors.
Vorce — who is also 10 years older than the nine-time Grammy winner — later shut down infidelity rumors on his Instagram Story.
“Nobody cheated on anyone,” he wrote at the time. “Relationships end. Simple as that. Creating rumors and LYING on the internet is dangerous.”
In December 2023, Eilish slammed Variety for “outing” her on its 2023 Hitmakers red carpet after she opened up to the outlet about her sexuality in a November interview.
“Thanks Variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11 a.m. instead of talking about anything else that matters,” she wrote on Instagram. “I like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares stream ‘What Was I Made For.‘”
Eilish and Finneas will perform “WWIMF” live at the Oscars on March 10.
