Bob Odenkirk wants to do more action movies

Take two! Bob Odenkirk is ready for the next scene of his career.

The “Better Call Saul” actor, 59, starred in last year’s action flick “Nobody” — and he said he’s ready to do more karate-chopping films in the future.

Odenkirk appeared at the 2022 Venice Film Festival where he noted he “wants to do more action” movies, Deadline reported.

“I was very surprised by ‘Nobody,’ ” he said. “I had initiated that project because I had a feeling that the character I was developing in ‘Better Call Saul’ was the kind of character you see in an action film. He has earnest desires, and he was willing to sacrifice himself.”

The “Breaking Bad” alum — who suffered a “near death” heart attack in July 2021 — also revealed how he’s been getting himself in tip-top shape to stay healthy.

“I still train multiple times a week, and if I get my way, you’re going to see me doing more action,” he said.

He even hopes to turn his film career into a Jackie Chan-esque extravaganza. “I found the action sequences a great deal of fun and close to doing sketch comedy. I love the early Jackie Chan films, which had humor in them. I’d like to get that in the future,” Odenkirk went on.

And when it comes to action comedies, he said: “It’s almost like people like to see older people lose their s – – t. Why does that seem to make sense to everyone? It’s funny.”

“Nobody” was directed by Ilya Naishuller and features Odenkirk as an average family man whose home gets burglarized, and he becomes entwined with a crime boss.

The Emmy Award winner described the thriller to Entertainment Weekly back in 2020, and he gushed over his love of action stories.

“I get the s – – t kicked out of me in this movie,” he beamed at the time. “I really wanted to go way far outside, like 180 degrees outside my comfort zone. Just commit to this guy, commit to his rage, and commit to his commitment to what he’s doing.” 

“The fist-bloodying fight sequences were as much fun as being in a comedy room,” he added.

A sequel for “Nobody” is currently in development and was confirmed by producer David Leitch last month.
