Body of Israeli boy found in attic where he hid from Hamas

The burned body of a young Israeli boy has been recovered from the attic of his home — 11 days after the surprise attack by Hamas terrorists, from whom he apparently hid at the kibbutz.

Volunteers with Israel’s Zaka International Rescue Unit sifting through ravaged Kibbutz Be’eri, where more than 100 people were slaughtered, made the grisly discovery on Wednesday, The Times of Israel reported.

Israeli journalist Hallel Bitton Rosen posted a photograph on X of Zaka workers removing the unidentified boy’s wrapped body from the rubble. He appeared to have been about 5 years old, according to the news outlet.

A woman’s body also was discovered inside the home, which was torched by the terrorist on Oct. 7, according to Rosen.

At least 1,400 people have been killed and 3,800 injured in Israel since Oct. 7.

The death of a young child hiding from evil inside a home struck a similarity to the case of Anne Frank, the famous Jewish girl who hid from the Nazis inside an attic in Amsterdam during World War II.

The German-born girl became a worldwide symbol of perseverance by spending more than two years in hiding with her family as she documented her plight in a diary, which was published in 1947.

Anne died at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945.
