Boy, 6, suffered ‘traumatic’ injuries after he fell more than 20 feet off rollercoaster

A 6-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after falling off a rollercoaster and suffering “traumatic” injuries in Kissimmee, Florida.

It is unclear what caused the unidentified boy to slip from the ride, but one witness said he saw the child “standing on a rollercoaster,” Lew Spectre wrote on Facebook.

“Units arrived to find a 6-year-old with traumatic injuries under the rollercoaster track, which was approximately 20 feet above,” Osceola County spokesperson Mark Pino told CNN.

The Galaxy Spin ride requires riders to be at least 4 feet tall to ride by themselves or 3.5 feet with an adult, the company’s website read.

The ride operates at roughly 30 miles per hour and twists and turns around “sharp and tight corners.”

The child was rushed to Arnold Palmer Hospital for treatment around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. His condition is unknown.

The ride is temporarily shut down to investigate, but employees vowed to reopen it as soon as possible, according to Daily Mail. The park said the ride was up to code and had recently underwent inspection.

“I’m hesitant anyway to go on third-party parks,” the unidentified customer said.
