Bride got hot on wedding day, chopped off her dress in viral video

Most brides treasure their wedding dresses and sometimes save them to pass down to future generations.

But Morgan Rusinko passed up keeping her dress forever, and chopped off the entire bottom of her dress when she got “too hot.”

Rusinko chose her dream dress for her big day, saying “I Do” in a gorgeous, strapless floor-length gown with an embellished tulle skirt.

However, it was a tad warmer than the blushing bride wanted, leading her to make some drastic DIY alterations at the reception.

In a five-second TikTok video — which has been viewed over 5.7 million times — one of Ruskino’s bridesmaids cut the bottom of her dress with a pair of scissors just above the knee.

“Should I send this to my seamstress?” she jokingly captioned the clip.

“POV: Your wedding dress is too hot so you cut it during the reception,” she wrote on the clip.

In a comment, Rusinko explained she forget to bring her rehearsal dinner dress as a “backup.”

“I really planned on wearing my wedding dress the whole night,” she said.

Thousands of people flooded the comments section of Rusinko’s dress transformation — many taken aback by the bride’s decision to cut her wedding gown while others said it was better she enjoyed her day.

“My first instinct was WHYYYY?? But honestly, it’s super cute and more important to enjoy your day than to worry about a dress you’ll never wear again!” one user wrote.

“I mean it’s not like you’re gonna wear again,” agreed another.

Others suggested ways the bride can now make the most of her shorter dress and spare material.

“If you want kids and have a daughter she can wear this to homecoming,” one user wrote.

“I had the train of my gown made into a baptismal dress for my babies,” another said.

“I don’t think y’all understand that it’s her dress, if you don’t like that she cut it, don’t cut yours,” declared another. “This is HERS.”
