Britney Spears says she had an abortion while dating ex Justin Timberlake

Britney Spears has revealed that she got an abortion while she was dating Justin Timberlake in the early 2000s.

According to an excerpt from Spears’ upcoming bombshell-laced memoir “The Woman in Me,” Spears claimed that while the pregnancy was a “surprise,” she was not totally upset.

“I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” wrote the “Toxic” singer in an excerpt obtained by People. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”

“I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision,” Spears, now 41, continued. “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”

The Post reached out to Timberlake for comment.

A source close to the former *NSYNC singer recently alleged that Timberlake, 42, was “concerned” about what might be written about him.

“It’s eating at him,” one insider shared to Page Six, while another person close to the tell-all memoir claimed the book was “not a takedown” of anyone in particular.

The former “Mickey Mouse Club” stars began dating in 1999 but ultimately ended things in 2002.

Speaking with the late journalist Barbara Walters, Timberlake implied that the “Womanizer” songstress allegedly cheated on him, which Spears has never publicly acknowledged.

Their relationship was thrust under a microscope once again in the 2021 Emmy-nominated New York Times documentary “Framing Britney Spears,” forcing the “Cry Me a River” singer to issue an apology to Spears.

“I want to take accountability for my own missteps in all of this as well as be a part of a world that uplifts and supports,” wrote Timberlake on Instagram. “I care deeply about the wellbeing of the people I love and have loved. I can do better and I will do better.”

Timberlake later supported Spears when she spoke out in open court for the first time about her “abusive” 13-year conservatorship, which has since ended.

“Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was . . . what’s happening to her is just not right,” the “Trolls” star wrote on X (formerly Twitter), pleading with Spears’ family to “make this right and let her live however she wants to live.”

Spears’ bombshell novel, “The Woman in Me,” is set to hit booktores on Oct. 24.
