Bruce Willis’ daughter Scout shares unseen photos of actor amid dementia battle
Scout Willis is reminiscing about the past year.
The 32-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore shared a plethora of snapshots from 2023 on Dec. 31 — some appearing to be never-before-seen of her famous dad.
The “Die Hard” star, 68, retired from acting in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia.
In February 2023, his loved ones further revealed that his condition had worsened and that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
In one sweet photo shared, Scout rests on her dad’s chest. The shirtless star puts his hands on her head as the pic also reveals some of his tattoos, including the names of his daughters Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, 9, whom he shares with wife Emma Heming Willis.
Other snapshots included Scout holding her father’s hand as they rest at a table, the “St. Elmo’s Fire” alum, 61, attending a Hollywood event and Scout holding hands with sister Rumer Willis, 35.
Willis and ex-wife Moore are also parents of daughter Tallulah, 29.
The action star’s family is reportedly all staying under one roof amid his health struggles.
“Bruce has good days and bad days, but in the last two months, there are many more bad days than good,” a source recently told Us Weekly.
“This experience has brought the whole family even closer together. No one knows how much time Bruce has left, so they’re soaking up every moment they get with him.”
“Once Bruce was diagnosed, everyone came together to keep his memory of the family intact and to be there as a constant reminder [that they] love him. [Everything] revolves around him,” a second source said.
“Sadly, there’s this ticking clock connected to Bruce’s condition,” they added. “Everyone has come together for Bruce. They’re thankful they have each other.”
The painful moments are at times worthwhile as “it can sometimes be easy to forget that there’s anything wrong with him.”
On Dec 29. Willis’ wife, Heming Willis, 45, took to Instagram to express her gratitude over the amount of support she has received the past year.
“Bruce calls it the ‘inner circle.’ It’s people that we are fortunate to have in our lives that we can call, trust and rely on. I’m lucky enough to have an inner circle of people that don’t offer a way to fix-it but can just listen. That helps tremendously,” she wrote.
“That inner circle is also here on this channel. This past year it was imperative for me to finally be able to build community and connection. And you have shown up. People from all walks of life sharing the same unfortunate thread that connects us.”
“I receive countless messages of love and support because Bruce is so beloved. That showers on him and I am fortunate enough to stand below that to catch those sprinkles that yet, feel like a waterfall of kindness,” she continued. “I wish I could answer all the messages because they are deep, raw and poetic but please know that I appreciate them so very much. It also makes me feel less alone.”
The couple, who met in 2007 and married two years later, recently celebrated 16 years together.
“How do I really feel about today? Well, how do I look?” the model asked her followers last week in an Instagram video. “I just got off the phone with a really dear girlfriend of mine who I was able to have a good cry with. It is really important to be able to have someone that you can trust with your feelings. Instead of just bottling them up and putting your best foot forward and sort of just soldiering through stuff, which I have a tendency to do.”
“Holidays are hard. Anniversaries are hard,” she went on. “But for me this year it has really been about community, building a community and connection. And I just want to say that’s been my lifeline and I just want to thank you for that.”
