Cameron Robbins remembered at private memorial service after tragic cruise incident

A long line of mourners remembered Cameron Robbins during a private memorial service Sunday.

Robbins, 18, was last seen jumping into shark-infested waters in the Bahamas on May 24 while on a pirate-themed “booze cruise” with hundreds of other newly minted high-school grads in May.

The service, held at the Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was kept private as loved ones could be seen entering the church, according to BRPROUD.

Robbins’ parents told The Post on Saturday that they are still trying to wrap their heads around the chilling caught-on-video tragedy but have appreciated the outpouring of support the family has received since the baseball stand-out apparently leaped into the ocean on a dare.

“We are just mourning our son right now,” said Shari Robbins, the teen’s mom. “We appreciate you calling. Maybe we will be able to talk more later.”

The tragic teen’s father, William, added that the grieving family “appreciates everyone’s support.”

The teen was a star baseball player at the University Lab School in Baton Rouge. He graduated May 21.

“He was a tough player, battling back and multiple injuries, known to pitch through separated shoulders and broken ribs,” his family said in a moving obituary.

Cameron had just returned from a weekend fishing trip on the Louisiana Gulf Coast with his dad and brother before embarking on the post-graduation cruise aboard a ship called Blackbeard’s Revenge.

A terrifying video of his last moments shows Cameron swimming away from a rescue buoy as teens on the boat urge him to grab it — while flashes of what some online viewers say appear to be sharks seem to close in on him.

Cameron then disappears from view.

Wiliam and Shari Robbins adopted the teen shortly after he was born in Abilene, Texas, his obituary said, adding that their son “loved his truck and country music” and was “a big star” at karaoke.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Cole, and sister, Cassie, and two grandmothers.
