Champion of Champions snooker 2023 final LIVE – Mark Allen and Judd Trump go head-to-head

The format

We’ve slowly been upping the frames in this tournament, from best of seven to best of 11. The final is a race to ten frames, played over two sessions, the second of which will be tonight.

Route to the final

Here’s how our two contenders booked their spot in today’s final:

Mark Allen beat Jimmy White 4-1 and Ali Carter 6-2 en route to the semis, where he registered a 6-2 success over John Higgins last night.

Judd Trump on the other hand whitewashed Baipat Siripaporn 4-0 and then won 6-4 against Shaun Murphy, before a last-four victory over Barry Hawkins (6-3) on Friday.

Who will add to their trophy haul?

Both of these players have lifted the Champion of Champions trophy before, with Mark Allen victorious in 2020 thanks to a 10-6 success over Neil Robertson in the final, while Judd Trump beat John Higgins 10-4 a year later.

Allen to face Trump in final after easing past Higgins

Mark Allen wasn’t completely at his free-flowing best, but he was able to overcome a spirited John Higgins in the Champion of Champions semi-final, qualifying for the final where he will face Judd Trump, who beat Barry Hawkins on Friday.

Northern Irishman Allen triumphed 6-2 over Higgins at the University of Bolton Stadium, coming out on top when it mattered during a compelling battle.
