Championship League snooker: John Higgins, Mark Selby, Kyren Wilson and Neil Robertson in frantic battle for progress

John Higgins ended Monday on top of Championship League Group 3 despite losing his final two matches of the day in Leicester.

The Scotsman produced breaks of 107 in a 3-2 win over Neil Robertson before rolling in a 131 break in a 3-2 victory over fellow four-time world champion Mark Selby, who opened the match with a knock of 111.

Higgins has two points from four outings ahead of the chasing pack on frames won with Gary Wilson, Selby, Xiao and Kyren Wilson on the same points total, while Robertson and Ford have one point as seven players battle for the top four places in the section to reach the semi-finals of the invitational event on Tuesday evening.

The champion from each group progresses to the winners’ group on March 1 and 2, with the other top four players continuing to Group 4 as the bottom two players are eliminated at the end of each group.
