Charles wants to read Harry’s memoir before giving kids HRH titles: book

Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir will change the course of not only his life but his children’s lives as well.

Author Katie Nicholl claimed in her new biography, “The New Royals,” that King Charles III wants to read the prince’s bombshell memoir before granting his kids — Lilibet Diana and Archie Harrison — royal HRH titles.

In an excerpt published by Vanity Fair, Nicholl claimed Charles has allegedly been “reluctant” to make any title changes for Archie, 3, who earned the right to be a prince, and 1-year-old Lilibet, a princess.

“We know titles matter to Charles, and he reportedly wants to limit them to the top tier of royals,” the excerpt read. “He is also reportedly reluctant for his brother Prince Edward to take the title Duke of Edinburgh, even though it was their late father’s wish.”

When Charles, 73, became monarch after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Sept. 8, Harry, 38, and his wife Meghan Markle’s two children inherited the ability to be an HRH, the book noted.

“Would Charles go as far as barring Archie and Lilibet from becoming a prince and a princess now that the Sussexes are no longer working royals? According to a source close to the king, ‘It depends a lot on what happens in the coming months, particularly with Harry’s book and their TV show,’” Nicholl claimed.

The pair are reportedly “furious” over the alleged snub, according to another report.

Markle, 41, and her husband have had a contentious relationship with the royal family following their decision to step back from royal duties in 2020. They subsequently moved to Montecito, California, and the Invictus Games founder’s memoir — set to tell his side of royal life — will be published in 2023.

His father, King Charles III, is reportedly “reluctant” to bestow royal titles on his grandkids.

Elsewhere in the biography, Nicholl explained how the Queen was upset after learning that Harry and Markle would be leaving the family two years ago.

A source had spoken to the reporter for her book, saying: “[The Queen] was very hurt and told me, ‘I don’t know, I don’t care, and I don’t want to think about it anymore.’”

Nicholl also claimed that “it was a source of sadness to the Queen that she got to see so little of Archie and Lilibet and that Harry and Meghan were not able to join her for a weekend at Balmoral in August, when the Queen used to host a ‘sleepover’ for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.”

Following the Queen’s state funeral on Sept. 19, the former “Suits” actress had reportedly requested a private meeting with Charles via a letter before she returned to California with her husband.

She wanted to “clear the air” with the new sovereign before their departure.
