Chelsea may miss out on keeper as Bayern Munich want Wojciech Szczesny and David Raya – Paper Round

Chelsea may miss out on Raya

Chelsea could fail to land Brentford goalkeeper David Raya after Bundesliga title holders Bayern Munich made contact over the Spaniard.

The Sun reports: “That’s after the German champions made contact with Brentford’s No. 1 over a Bundesliga transfer.

“Raya, 27, is set to leave Thomas Frank’s side after refusing to pen a new contract.

“The Bees have already signed a replacement in Mark Flekken.

“But Raya remains their player after seeing a move to Tottenham fall through.”

Bayern also keen on Szczesny

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny could be another target for Bayern Munich, as Juventus are open to selling the Poland international.

The Mail states: “Juventus are ready to sell Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny amid interest from Bayern Munich.

“The Polish shot-stopper has become the Bundesliga side’s number one choice to replace Yann Sommer, who is closing in on a move to Inter Milan.

“Should Sommer leave, Bayern will need someone who is capable of standing in for Manuel Neuer, who has not played since the World Cup after breaking his leg during a skiing trip.

“Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli would be ready to conclude the sale of their No 1 keeper.”

United name McTominay asking price

Manchester United have named their price for Scott McTominay after West Ham declared their interest in the Scot as a potential replacement for Declan Rice.

“Manchester United will not accept less than £40 million for midfielder Scott McTominay,” the Mirror claims.

“West Ham have enquired about McTominay to replace Declan Rice, but have been put off by United’s valuation of him. McTominay, 26, wants to play regularly and knows his game time at United will be limited next season, with Casemiro, new signing Mason Mount and Christian Eriksen all ahead of him.

“The Scotland international is understood to be open to the prospect of a move to relaunch his career, but United are unwilling to let the 26-year-old go for a knockdown fee. United insist McTominay, a product of their academy, remains an important member of Erik ten Hag’s squad and they are not under pressure to sell him.

“McTominay’s contract is not up until the summer of 2025 and United have the option to extend it by a further year, so the club are relaxed about his situation, with Ten Hag viewing him as useful cover in midfield. But United need to offload players to generate funds to reinvest in the squad and to ensure they remain within the tighter new Financial Fair Play regulations.”

Mbappe offer from Al Hilal

PSG have accepted a huge offer from Al Hilal for Kylian Mbappe, and the Saudi Arabian side only want the Frenchman to sign on for a year ahead of a potential move to Real Madrid.

“PSG have accepted a $332 million offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal for Kylian Mbappe, opening the door for the Frenchman to discuss personal terms,” reports Spanish newspaper Marca.

“It’s the latest chapter in the ongoing saga over Mbappe’s future at PSG. The striker wasn’t included in PSG’s squad for their Asian tour, and he is currently back in Paris training with the other players deemed surplus to requirements.

“Mbappe only has one year remaining on his contract with the French giants and has made it clear he will not be taking up his option to extend his deal until 2025 at the end of the season.

“As a result, PSG have made it clear they will move on from him this summer unless he signs a new deal.

“Al Hilal’s offer is only for one season, which would leave the door open for Mbappe to join Real Madrid next summer on a free transfer.”
