CNN cuts Hunter Biden laptop, ‘Russian disinfo’ references from TV clip

The Republican National Committee cried foul Friday after CNN cut references to Hunter Biden’s laptop and the “spies who lie” letter meant to discredit it from an interview clip of RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

Anchor Chris Wallace was pressing McDaniel about the integrity of the 2020 election result, but the network edited out her remarks about the social media suppression of The Post’s bombshell reporting on the first son when Wallace asked about how “fair” she thought the process was.

“I don’t think he won it fair, I don’t. I’m not gonna say that,” McDaniel said of President Biden’s electoral victory. “Let’s look at the Hunter Biden laptop. Fifty-one people in the intelligence agencies signed a letter saying it was Russian disinformation; that’s what the public disseminated, was being told. That’s not true. That’s a lie.”

“So you’re suggesting that he may not be the legitimately elected president?” Wallace asked.

“I’m saying the American people were not given the information they deserve before that election,” she replied.

The exchange appeared this week in the full episode of “Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace?” on Max, but a clip of the interview that aired on CNN Wednesday night cut McDaniel off after she said, “I don’t think he won it fair, I don’t. I’m not gonna say that,” and jumped directly to Wallace asking: “You’re saying you’re not sure, as the Republican Party chair, that he was the legitimately elected president?”

Nearly four in five Americans say “truthful” reporting about Hunter Biden’s shady business deals revealed in emails from his abandoned laptop would have affected the 2020 election’s results.

“Deceptively editing an interview and continuing to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story is why the American people keep losing trust in the media,” RNC spokesman Keith Schipper told The Post.

A CNN spokesperson told The Post that there was “nothing to comment on.”

“New episodes of ‘Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?’ drop Friday mornings on Max, and air Fridays at 10pm ET/PT on CNN,” the rep said. “The hour-long CNN program will air this evening. Chris appeared on CNN Primetime on Wednesday to preview the full interview with a clip.”

Nearly four in five Americans say “truthful” reporting about Hunter Biden’s shady business deals revealed in emails from his abandoned laptop would have affected the 2020 election results, a poll last year showed.

Wallace began probing McDaniel for her opinions about the 2020 race by asking, “When did you stop being an election denier?”

“I think saying there were problems with 2020 is very real. I don’t think that’s election denying,” the RNC chief answered. “I mean, Chris, I’m from Wayne County [Michigan]. We had a woman send a note saying, ‘I’m being told to backdate ballots.’ We had to look into that. That’s deeply concerning. When you have friends who are poll watching and being kicked out, that’s deeply concerning.”

“Wait a minute, are you saying as the chair of the Republican Party that you still have questions as to whether or not Joe Biden was the duly-elected president?” Wallace questioned.

“Joe Biden’s the president,” she replied.

“No, I didn’t ask you whether he’s the president,” Wallace said. “Do you think he won the election?”

“I think there were lots of problems with 2020,” she said.

“Do you think he won the election?” Wallace asked again.

“Ultimately, he won the election, but there were lots of problems with the 2020 election,” McDaniel responded.

“And that’s fair,” Wallace said, before McDaniel launched into her concerns about the first son’s infamous laptop.
