College student catches apparent peeping Tom on live video

A San Diego State University student captured the moment an apparent peeping Tom peered into her bedroom – as she watched terrified on her door cam.

The woman said she was sitting on her bed about 10 p.m. Thursday when her Ring camera sent live video to her phone showing the stranger climbing into her yard.

“I saw him creeping, looking into my window,” the student, who wished to remain anonymous, told CBS 8.

“His hands cupped over his eyes. I was scared, I was very scared.”

She said she crawled into a room with no windows and called 911.

The video shows two police officers searching the area with flashlights, but the intruder had already left.

“I have no video of him exiting. I don’t know where he went,” the woman said.

The student and her roommate have complained that the streetlights in their neighborhood are burnt out, making it possible for pervs to roam undetected.

She noted that the dark-clad man appeared to know exactly where to go before he looked into her bedroom, so she suspects he’s been there before.

The woman said she filed a report on the city’s Get It Done App but was shocked to learn it takes an average of 332 days to fix the lights.

City Council member Sean Elo-Rivera told the outlet that workers are expected to repair streetlights at Remington Road and Collwood Boulevard this month, but that’s about a mile away from the woman’s neighborhood.

“This makes you so much more susceptible to this happening. In the dark, it just makes us more of a target. There are students everywhere,” the woman told CBS 8.
