Colombia – Jamaica Live – Women’s World Cup: Football Scores & Highlights

FOOTBALL MATCH OR BOXING MATCH?

“This is like a boxing match, someone will go down. We want to be standing when the game is over,” said Jamaica manager Donaldson on today’s matchup.

“We’re going to eat the same food and train at the same time. Tactically, we do have to change. Our tactics for the three teams we’ve faced were different, so we have to change it.

“If we’re spot on and get it right, then I think we can have a good result. If they aren’t right, then so be it. So we have to tactically be right, and if a team is better than us then they’re better than us. But we’re going to try and give it everything that we’ve been doing and hopefully we can come out on a positive note.

“You can never faze a Jamaican. Whether it’s just life experiences, the way some of these girls grew up or just everything – we’ve seen it all. When you throw something at us, it’s like, ‘Ok, we have seen that one.’

“As a whole, whether it’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the Sunshine Girls, Usain Bolt or Bob Marley, Jamaicans are a resilient type of people. We’re a small nation, but we don’t fear anything. Most Jamaicans really go by that, whether you’re a judge or a teacher, anything – we think we can do it all.

“Sometimes we’re wrong, but at least there’s a belief. We want all the young people in Jamaica, man, woman, boy or girl, to start believing the impossible is possible.”
