‘Concerning 911 call’ leads to Capitol Hill evacuation on Trump arraignment eve
US Capitol Police evacuated the Senate office building in Washington, DC, Thursday after receiving reports of a possible active shooter on Wednesday.
“Our officers are searching in and around the Senate Office Buildings in response to a concerning 911 call,” the department tweeted at 2:45 p.m.
Police asked everyone inside to shelter in place, although reports of gunshots were not confirmed.
The city’s Metro Police Department said the active shooter report “appears to be a bad call” and no shooter was located and there were no injuries, according to Politico.
The office building is just a few blocks from the courthouse where former President Donald Trump is scheduled to appear tomorrow in his latest federal indictment.
