Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr returned to the top of the Saudi Pro League table in dramatic fashion on Friday by scoring three goals in injury time to beat Al Batin 3-1.

Al Batin came into the game rooted to the foot of the table with only one win to their name.

They took a surprise lead on 17 minutes through Renzo Lopez Patron, and doggedly held firm.

Al Nassr enjoyed masses of possession and peppered the Al Batin goal, but were frustrated.

Ronaldo had a shot cleared off the line after breaking clear and rounding the goalkeeper, and it looked like a shock was on the cards.

Al Nassr hopes were raised as the fourth official showed 12 minutes of injury time.

The home side won a free-kick on 93 minutes and the ball was played into the box, where Abdulrahman Abdullah Ghareeb swept the ball home.

Ronaldo picked up the ball and charged back to the halfway line knowing there was still time to snatch a winner.

A second came on 102 minutes when Mohammed Al Fatil smashed in a loose ball after Ghareeb‘s dangerous free-kick bounced loose in the box.

The celebrations were wild, and the points were made safe when Al Nassr broke at pace and Mohammed Maran swept home from 12 yards.

The win moves Al Nassr two points clear of Al Ittihad after 19 games of the season.
