Crystal globe leader Stefan Kraft returns to winning ways in ski jumping at Lake Placid event

Stefan Kraft returned to winning ways in Lake Placid to stretch his advantage in the race for the ski jumping crystal globe.

The Austrian finished down in 24th on Saturday but ensured he occupied what has become a familiar spot on the top step of the podium with jumps of 130.5m and 126m.

They earned him 281.4 points, 3.2 more than both Lovro Kos – who earned his maiden World Cup win earlier in the weekend – and Philipp Raimund, who shared silver.

Ryoyu Kobayashi, who sits third overall, will hope to summon inspiration from his home crowd when the competition heads to Sapporo next weekend.
