Cycling World Championships – Women’s cross-country final LIVE

Today’s course is made up of 3.5km laps with a total elevation of 145m. The dreich damp conditions in Glentress may have an impact on the surface, in particular the exposed rocky and roots sections, which will test bike handling skills and balance as well as power to get round the rest of the course.

Thursday’s XCC race saw French rider Ferrand-Prevot retain her rainbow bands as young Dutch star Pieterse took silver. Great Britain’s Richards took bronze in front of a home crowd. Ferrand-Prevot is also defending her XCO title today and no doubt Pieterse and Richards will be eager to improve on their second and third places on Thursday.
