Dancing women swallowed by sinkhole in wild video
This redefines underground dance scene.
A birthday party in Brazil turned catastrophic after a sinkhole opened up and swallowed several dancers, as seen in dramatic footage circulating the web.
“We were apparently dancing on the exact spot over the hole and we just fell right inside it,” one of the victims, Epilator Gabriela Carvalho, 38, told CEN.
The freak accident occurred while she and her pals were celebrating the birthday of a friend at the home of Carvalho’s grandmother in the Brazilian city of Alagoinhas. Carvalho and other revelers were reportedly dancing to the popular Portuguese song “Tem Cabaré Essa Noite,” when the earth began to move beneath their feet.
However, before they could react, the ground opened up, and she and six other gyrating women fell in mid-move.
The ensuing video, recorded by Carvalho’s daughter Gabriela, starts off typically enough with the booty-shaking septet jumping up and down in a circle. Then, out of the blue, the sinkhole appears underneath them and swallows them all up while onlookers cry out in shock in a scene straight out of a disaster movie.
Thankfully, despite literally tearing up the dance floor, the women emerged from the incident unscathed save for some minor cuts and bruises. However, they found the sinkhole incident peculiar as they’d been throwing shindigs in that spot “forever” without incident.
Workers are currently repairing the capacious sinkhole so it won’t spoil the next family soiree.
In an even bigger “hole-y crap” moment in February, a Turkish man barely survived after getting swallowed by a nearly 20-foot-deep sinkhole — and then hit with a falling vending machine — while lighting up outside.
