Daniel Craig’s character is queer

Viewers don’t need a detective to figure out this mystery.

“Knives Out” director Rian Johnson has revealed the sexual orientation of Daniel Craig’s character, super sleuth Benoit Blanc.

The sequel to the 2019 mystery comedy, “Glass Onion,” is set for a Netflix release next month and Johnson confirmed at a BFI London Film Festival press conference that Blanc is queer.

Johnson was asked about a particular scene in the upcoming movie that seemingly showed Blanc having a male lover.

“Yes, obviously he is,” the “Looper” filmmaker bluntly told reporters.

“There’s nobody in the world I can imagine in bringing me more joy for Benoit Blanc to be with,” he added.

Craig, 54, then interjected, saying: “No spoilers [but] who wouldn’t want to live with that person?”

The stand-alone sequel will have a one-week limited theatrical release on Nov. 23 before moving to Netflix on Dec. 23.

Of the streaming premiere, Johnson said: “Personally, I’m thrilled that Netflix has made this deal for theatrical in November. I love people watching it at home. Though if people want to see it in the theater, I want them to have the opportunity to — and to see it with a crowd.” 

In “Knives Out,” Blanc is an eccentric detective hell-bent on solving the case of a millionaire novelist who died by suicide.

The Agatha Christie-esque story also encompassed the family members of the slain author (Christopher Plummer) as they all try to claw away at a piece of his fortune.

Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon and Jamie Lee Curtis also appeared in the whodunit.

Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline and Jessica Henwick will appear in “Glass Onion.”

The parent film took place in a quiet Massachusetts town, while the setting of the new flick will bring a different set of characters to a rich Greek island.

The plot follows a tech billionaire who invites his friends over to his estate for a wild time of partying. But when someone ends up murdered, Blanc is back to solve the case.

Elsewhere at the press conference, the cast discussed the movie and how they filmed it during the pandemic on location in Greece.

“It did feel like we were this traveling circus together which added, I think, to the texture of the movie,” Hahn noted. “That kind of closeness that we were able to create under those circumstances really added [to the movie].”
