Danny Ings: West Ham sign striker from Aston Villa in reported £15 million transfer
West Ham have signed Danny Ings from Aston Villa for a reported fee of £15 million.
The London club currently sit 18th in the Premier League table, and are hoping that the signing of a proven goalscorer can help them climb out of a relegation battle.
West Ham have only scored 15 goals this season, with Wolves the only Premier League club that has netted less.

“I’m really excited to join West Ham United,” said the player. “It’s important I settle in as quickly as I can do – and do the important stuff on the pitch for West Ham.
“We’ve got some massive games ahead of us – and I’ve come here to try and score as many goals as I can to help the team to get some positive results.
“I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
Aside from Villa, Ings, who has 68 Premier League goals to his name in 188 top-flight appearances, has also previously played for Burnley, Liverpool, and Southampton respectively.
The striker, with three England caps to his name, has scored seven goals in his 21 appearances in all competitions so far during the 2022/23 season.
The six goals the 30-year-old has scored in the domestic league are one more than West Ham’s Michail Antonio and summer signing Gianluca Scamacca have managed between them so far during this campaign.
