Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen allegedly assaulted at Florida hotel
Def Leppard’s drummer Rick Allen suffered a head injury after he and another woman were assaulted Monday outside of the Four Seasons resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Max Hartley, 19, was allegedly hiding behind a pole and waiting for the drummer outside of the hotel when Allen, 59, came outside to smoke a cigarette, according to a police report obtained by The Post.
It was then that Hartley allegedly charged the drummer at full speed from behind and knocked him over, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department said.
The report claims that a woman came out to help the rock star but was also knocked over by the teen.
The woman attempted to flee by crawling back to the hotel, according to authorities, but was dragged by her hair back to the scene by Hartley.
By the time police arrived, Hartley had reportedly fled to a nearby hotel but was later apprehended by cops after allegedly damaging several cars in a parking garage.
Hartley was charged with elder abuse, battery and criminal mischief and was later released after posting bond.
Reps for Def Leppard declined to comment to The Post.
Allen, who lost his arm in a 1984 car accident, was in Florida to co-headline a concert with Mötley Crüe at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Sunday.
The Post also reached out to the Four Seasons hotel for comment.
