Demi Moore thinks dog is Guinness World Records’ shortest

Actress Demi Moore is no stranger to the big screen — or the small dog.

Moore thinks her pooch has what it takes to challenge Pearl, the current Guinness World Record holder for the world’s shortest dog living.

The dog mom shared photos of her Chihuahua, Pilaf, measured against a $100 bill on an Instagram post on Wednesday, letting spectators know the competition is brewing.

“@guinnessworldrecords just announced the World’s Shortest dog today. I don’t know about you but I think Pilaf might give Pearl a run for her money! Should we submit @pilaf.littlemouse??” captioned Moore.

The 60-year-old has been considering submitting her dog for the Guinness World Record since March 24, but after seeing Pearl crowned on Sunday, Moore seems a bit closer to making an official submission.

Her Chihuahua, Pilaf, was born on Nov. 9, 2020, and currently weighs only 700 grams, according to the actor.

In order for the pooch to stand a chance against the current title holder, Pilaf must be shorter than 3.59 inches in height. Pearl stands 3.59 inches tall and weighs 1.22 pounds.

The “G.I. Jane” actor’s post received overwhelming support from friends and family, with 27,000 likes and over 635 comments.

Supermodel Helena Christensen commented underneath the post, agreeing Pilaf stands a chance, “But of course ! 🐶 💵.”

While “Thor” actress Jaimie Alexander seconds that statement with, “Yessssss 🙌🏻🥰.”

Even Moore’s daughter Tallulah Willis shared her reaction to her mom posing the dog against a $100 note, unlike the title holder who posed with just a buck.

“NOT THE BENJAMIN 😭. You are truly a legend,” she said.

It’s not certain if Pilaf will snag Pearl’s title, but the photos did grab the attention of the Guinness World Records Instagram account, which commented, “😱😱😱.”

Moore’s 2-year-old pup has her own Instagram account, @pilaf.littlemouse, with nearly 8,000 followers, where she can be seen posing in a crab costume on top of corn or rocking a blue cowboy hat.

Both canines have a passion for fashion. Pearl enjoys “dressing up nice” and taking shopping trips in Milan, her owner Vanesa Semler told Guinness’ Italian show “Lo Show Dei Record.”

While Moore continues to contemplate her submission, Pearl, who is 2 years old and also known to be “a bit of a diva,” plans to bask in her victory and family legacy.

The current title holder’s aunt, Miracle Milly, was a previous record holder and stood 3.8 inches tall before she died in 2020.

She weighed roughly 1 pound and was known for sticking out her tiny tongue when someone took her picture. “She knows how to pose,” Semler told Guinness World Records in 2013.
