Dick Van Dyke, 98, hits gym with wife before birthday: Photos

Age isn’t going to stop Dick Van Dyke from getting his sweat on.

The 98-year-old celebrated his birthday on Dec. 13, and he was spotted working out at the gym just one day prior.

In photos obtained exclusively by The Post, the “Mary Poppins” star was seen on an exercise outing with his wife, Arlene Silver, 52, in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The legendary actor was happy to chat with onlookers and seemed to be in a cheery mood as he headed into the gymnasium.

Van Dyke sported a gray sweatshirt, navy sweatpants and black sneakers for his workout.

“I hate going to the gym. She makes me go to the gym!” he quipped about his partner when people asked if he likes to pump iron.

“Tomorrow, that’s right. My God, nobody should be 98 years old!” he then joked about his big day.

Van Dyke has been a longtime staple of Hollywood since the 1940s, starring in hits such as “Mary Poppins,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show.”

The broadcast event will also showcase songs and archival clips from Van Dyke’s iconic films and TV shows.

Ahead of the special’s taping, Van Dyke reflected on his career, looking back on being in Tinseltown for more than seven decades.

“You think, ‘I don’t deserve this,’ but it’s difficult to say how I felt,” he told People.

Van Dyke continued: “I came home, and I said, ‘You know something? It’s going to be a couple of days before this actually sinks in that it happened.’ I never expected that kind of recognition.”

“My whole life went before me. I didn’t realize I had done so many things while I was 75 years in show business.”

In 2021, Van Dyke revealed that he has no intention of ever stepping away from Hollywood.

“I don’t think I’ll ever retire, unless they made me. It’s too much fun! It’s such a good life,” he dished to  “Today” at the time.

In February, the Emmy winner opened up about staying active in his older age, claiming that he still goes to the gym three days a week.
