Did ‘The Simpsons’ predict British Prime Minister Liz Truss’ resignation?

There’s yet another “Simpsons” conspiracy theory afoot.

The FOX television show — which has a long history of allegedly predicting political and social events — might have also predicted the resignation of British Prime Minister Elizabeth Truss on Thursday.

Truss — who has officially became the shortest-serving prime minister — stepped down from Britain’s top office after only 44 days, following former PM Boris Johnson’s embattled term from 2019 to 2022.

The image that is currently circulating the internet is from a 2005 episode featuring a wrapper wearing a “Thursday the 20th” golden chain around his neck.

“If only we had the exact date,” mused the viral “Simpsons” fan page @Simpsons_tweets on Twitter.

“Trussday the 20th ??” another quipped.

“The Simpsons has done it again, forecasting the future. Another turbulent day in the world of UK politics,” said another.

Of course, the un-contextual nature of the image has made it a popular meme on any 20th day of the month that happens to fall on a Thursday. So keep your eye on April 20, 2023, as one “Simpsons” fan suggests.

“The Simpsons” was also said to have predicted the death of Queen Elizabeth who died in September at the age of 96.
