Dog rescued after getting head stuck in a wheel
Daisy had a wheely ruff day.
An adorable dog named Daisy somehow got her head stuck in the middle of a wheel and had to be rescued by New Jersey firefighters.
“Daisy found herself stuck in the rim of a tire at home,” the Franklinville Volunteer Fire Company said of Thursday’s bizarre call, without explaining exactly how the four-legged furball got there.
The poor lab looked forlorn and wet during the rescue op, where “Iinitial efforts to free her with soap and water were unsuccessful,” the fire service said.
The dog was eventually freed by Lt. Brandon Volpe, who used his “personal plasma cutters to free Daisy from the rim,” the volunteer service said — with Daisy smiling again once freed.
“Daisy was not injured and is doing well!” the department said triumphantly.
Photos from the scene show several volunteers steadily holding the tire and wheel rim on the ground as Volpe used his plasma cutters to carefully extract Daisy.
Around one-third of the rim was cut off to allow the dog enough room to wiggle her way out, the photos show.
“Daisy was not injured and is doing well!” the department said.
