Dog the Bounty Hunter wary of acting on Kiely Rodni tips
Dog the Bounty Hunter is reportedly getting tips about the disappearance of California teen Kiely Rodni — but is wary of joining the search because of the flak he got while trying to find Gabby Petito and her killer, boyfriend Brian Laundrie.
A rep for Dog told TMZ that he has received a slew of tips that include the type of clues he has previously used to turn into solid leads.
However, he is holding back for now, partly because of the outrage he generated in his high-profile hunt for Petito and Laundrie, TMZ said.
During the search for the couple, he turned up at family members’ homes, with some critics damning it as nothing as a publicity stunt, while others feared it could impede the police investigation.
Since then, Dog, real name Duane Chapman, has decided to wait until he gets an invite from either cops or the missing person’s family — or if the case goes beyond 21 days, when such cases typically go cold, his rep said.
That would come next weekend for Kiely, 16, who went missing after attending a party near Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, California, on Aug. 6.
The hunt for Petito, the 22-year-old Long Island woman who went missing during a cross-country trek with her boyfriend, had intensified after video emerged of cops talking to the pair after they were spotted fighting.
After her body was found in Wyoming last October, the hunt switched to finding Laundrie.
The 23-year-old’s body was finally found close to his parent’s Florida home, where he shot himself after admitting to killing his girlfriend.
