Double delight for Sweden’s freestyle skiers on home soil as David Mobaerg and Sandra Naeslund claim gold in ski cross
Sweden’s freestyle skiers were unstoppable in Idre Fjall as David Mobaerg and Sandra Naeslund claimed gold in the men’s and women’s ski cross.
Naeslund, who is now unbeaten in her last 14 outings, continues to dominate the field. She has won each of the first six events of the season, leaving her with a perfect 600 ranking points, 260 clear of Switzerland’s Fanny Smith, who was forced to settle for second place once more.
Germany’s Daniela Maier took bronze as she climbed to fourth in the overall rankings, 45 points behind Canadian Marielle Thompson who was victorious in the small final ahead of France’s Marielle Berger Sabbatel.

In the men’s event, Mobaerg took gold on home soil to lift him to third overall, with Canada’s Reece Howden still well clear in top spot after taking silver.
Mobaerg’s older brother, Erik, took bronze for his first podium finish of the season.
It was a disappointing day for Mathias Graf, who remains second overall, despite elimination at the quarter-final stage on Saturday.
