Drake had Halle Berry ‘fixation’ before new album cover feud

From an innocent crush to a crushing feud.

Drake gushed over Halle Berry before their feud over his new album cover — and the interview was exactly 10 years ago.

On Friday, Berry slammed the rapper for using a photograph of her slimed at the 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards for his new track, “Slime You Out.”

“Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy…even if you’re a woman!” the actress initially shared on her social media.

When asked what she thought of the cover art by a fan, she added: “That’s not cool. I thought better of him! When people you admire disappoint you you have to be the bigger person and move on!”

Drake has always had a thing for Berry, even admitting in September 2013 that he would date her if he got the chance.

“I don’t know who the next strong female is, but I’m ready for a strong counterpart to share all these experiences with,” he said during an interview on HOT 97. “There’s nobody out here. You have to point me in the right direction.”

When Angie Martinez brought up Berry, Drake was quick to admit his infatuation. “You seem to have a fixation on Halle Berry, but she’s already preggo,” the host said, referring to Berry expecting her second child, first with then-husband Olivier Martinez.

“I do. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was unfortunate,” he replied. “Like, being with her? 100 percent. Of course. What do you mean? I feel like she would be here right now sitting right there. … She would be here turnt to the max.”

The Oscar winner and Olivier, who share son Maceo, filed for divorce in 2015 after two years of marriage.

In August, they finally finalized their divorce settlement, with Berry agreeing to pay Olivier $8,000 a month in child support.

She also welcomed daughter Nahla in 2008 with ex Gabriel Aubry.

During Hot 97, Drake also raved about Scarlett Johansson, who married now ex-husband Romain Dauriac that October. (She’s currently married to “Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost.)

“I was watching you on Fallon sitting next to Scarlett Johansson,” Angie said at the time.

“Yeah, she’s so pretty. I liked her but she’s about to get married. I found that out afterwards,” he said, recalling when they both appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” at the same time. “I won’t say I tried, but I think I was being a little too … [I got told], ‘Hey, her fiancé is backstage. Let’s tone it down.’”

He joked: “She was giving me the starry eyes …. but yeah, she’s beautiful.”

Drake went on to welcome son Adonis with artist Sophie Brussaux in 2017. Berry, meanwhile, has been dating Grammy award-winning recording artist Van Hunt since 2020.

Needless to say, Drake won’t be getting a date any time soon. Berry went on to double down on her disapproval of his artwork when asked why she’s “mad” about the photo “owned by Getty Images.”

“Cuz he asked me and I said NO that’s why,” she said in an Instagram comment. “Why ask if you intend to do what you want to do ! That was the f—k you to me. Not cool You get it? ❤️.”

The Post has reached out to Drake for comment. The musician has yet to directly respond to Berry’s remarks, but appeared to subtly react by wearing a “What the hell is going on?” shirt and uploading it to Instagram.

He captioned the photo: “😂😂 literally tho…”
