EasyJet has said it expects to report record profits this summer as high ticket prices and strong demand for travel power the airline industry’s post-pandemic recovery.
The low-cost airline on Thursday reported profit before tax of £203mn for the three months ending in June, up from a £114mn loss a year earlier.
EasyJet forecast “another record” pre-tax profit in the current quarter but warned that its guidance was dependent on its operations navigating “challenging conditions” caused by “unprecedented” air traffic control disruption.
