Elon Musk after twin reveal tweets he is helping underpopulation
Elon Musk is just “doing his part” to increase the population, the Tesla CEO quipped on Twitter last month.
On the heels of reports that the billionaire quietly welcomed twins with Shivon Zilis, an executive at one of his companies, Neuralink, last November, Musk’s past tweets about birth rates have received fresh scrutiny.
Back in May, he tweeted about the US’ falling birth rate and how he was doing his part to keep the numbers afloat.
“USA birth rate has been below min sustainable levels for ~50 years,” the mogul wrote on May 24. “Past two years have been a demographic disaster.”
In addition to his May tweet, on June 16, he wrote: “Have kids!”
Musk currently has nine known children, five with Justine Wilson, two with Shivon Zilis and two with the singer Grimes.
On Thursday after the news of secret twins made headlines, he tweeted: “Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far.”
A second tweet said: “I hope you have big families and congrats to those who already do!” alluding to the news of his ever-growing family.
However, Musk has yet to formally say anything regarding why his twins were kept a secret.
People are flocking to the comments section calling out the billionaire on his privilege and not-so-solid argument.
“Imagine just knocking up co-workers and telling people you’re just trying to help,” one person wrote.
One person used his own words against him and said, “Congratulations to those who have a large family with one woman, not like you, a large family with different women.”
“I have 3 beautiful children. 1 boy on his way to college next month and 2 girls under age 2. It’s becoming increasingly harder to provide for them in this economy due to the rising cost of everything and inflation. The $60k a year I’m making is just not cutting it anymore,” said another.
