Elton John, Britney Spears’ duet ‘Hold Me Closer’ confirmed

The Elton John and Britney Spears duet is officially happening.

Representatives for John and Spears confirm to The Post that the legendary duo have recorded and will soon release a rework of his hit 1971 song “Tiny Dancer,” which they’re calling “Hold Me Closer.”

John himself celebrated the news in a tweet Monday, unveiling the single’s artwork. On a pale pink background, the black song title sits on top of emojis of a rose and a rocket.

The “Circus” songstress has mentioned in Instagram posts over the past few years that she’s working on something called Project Rose. It is unclear at this time if Project Rose is her duet with the Rocket Man, a nickname for John.

This marks Spears’ first release since her 2016 album “Glory” — although the deluxe edition was released in 2020.

It’s also her first release since her 13-year conservatorship ended this past November.

“Hold Me Closer” does not yet have an official release date.

The good news comes days after Spears and her husband, Sam Asghari, responded to her ex-husband and the father of her two sons, Kevin Federline, who alleged that her now-teenagers choose not to speak to her because of her nearly nude Instagram posts.

“As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone,” the pop star wrote of sons Preston, 16, and Jayden, 15, who did not attend her recent wedding.

“It concerns me the reason is based on my Instagram … It was LONG before Instagram,” she insisted.

“I gave them everything,” she insisted. “Only one word: Hurtful.”

Meanwhile, John continues to tour for what he claims will be the last time, on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
