Eva Pinkelnig storms to ski jumping victory after storming from fifth to first in Oberstdorf, Abigail Strate second

Eva Pinkelnig stormed from fifth to first to seal a thrilling FIS Ski Jumping World Cup victory in Oberstdorf, Germany.

The Austrian won with 272.1 points after scoring a respectable 133.3 in the first round, before soaring to first with 138.8 in the second following a 129m jump.

Canada’s Abigail Strate was 2.7 points behind in second after she jumped from fourth with 128.5m in the second round to finish on 269.4 points.

Norway’s Eirin Maria Kvandal and Pinkelnig’s compatriot Jacqueline Seifriedsberger placed joint third on 261.6 points each after Seifriedsberger led the standings on 137.4 points in the first round.

France’s Josephine Pagnier still leads the overall standings on 388 points despite finishing 12th in Oberstdorf, followed by Nika Prevc, who has won two World Cups so far this season,after she finished fifth on 260.3 points.
