Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright dies aged 78

Everton have announced the death of Chairman Bill Kenwright, aged 78.

Kenwright had been Toffees Chairman for 19 years, having taken the position in 2004.

Having initially become a board member in 1989, his True Blue Holdings consortium acquired the club 10 years later, when he became vice-chairman.

Kenwright remained in his role after the club was sold to Farhad Moshiri in 2016.

In a statement, Everton wrote: “The club has lost a chairman, a leader, a friend, and an inspiration. The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Everton are with his partner Jenny Seagrove, his daughter Lucy Kenwright, grandchildren and everybody who knew and loved him.”
