Everton have time to turn form around but ‘have to regroup’ after damaging West Ham defeat – Alex Iwobi
Alex Iwobi says Everton need to ‘regroup’ after their miserable run of form continued with defeat to relegation rivals West Ham on Saturday, but he insists the Toffees still have time to turn things around.
The mood at Goodison Park has turned sour after a 10-match winless run in all competitions and a string of painful losses against the teams around them at the bottom end of the Premier League table.
Saturday’s 2-0 loss away to West Ham came after a 2-1 reverse against bottom side Southampton a week earlier, results that have left Frank Lampard’s side second-bottom and two points from safety.

“The ownership is on us as a team, we attack and defend together. We still have half the season left and a lot of improvement to do,” Iwobi told Sky Sports.
“Lampard made a few changes after the break, told us to keep pushing and be more dynamic.
“(Pressure) is nothing new to us, we were in the same situation last season. We have a break coming up and we have to regroup.
“It is not just the manager who takes responsibility, the players are fighting for him and the club.”
Defeat in east London came after Jarrod Bowen scored twice in the first half, inflicting a fourth consecutive league defeat on Lampard’s toothless side.
“We were unfortunate not to get the result, we keep pushing but it wasn’t our day. If we don’t take our chances we will get punished,” Iwobi said.
“We discussed about getting on top of them because they are in the same situation as us but unfortunately it was not the case.”
