Expulsion will be ‘badge of honor’
Disgraced Rep. George Santos admitted he expects to be booted from Congress by his colleagues next week — and slammed the bad behavior he claims to have witnessed from other politicians on Capitol Hill.
“I have colleagues who are more worried about getting drunk every night with the next lobbyist that they’re gonna screw and pretend like none of us know what’s going on, and sell off the American people, not show up to vote because they’re too hungover or whatever the reason is, or not show up to vote at all and just give their card out like f–king candy for someone else to vote for them,” Santos thundered in a lengthy interview on X Space Friday evening.
He conceded to journalist Monica Matthews that his time in the House of Representatives is nearly over as the chamber tees up its third attempt to oust him.
“I don’t care. You want to expel me? I’ll wear it like a badge of honor,” Santos said.
“I’ll be the sixth expelled member of Congress in the history of Congress. And guess what? I’ll be the only one expelled without a conviction.”
Santos added he is “going to get expelled when this expulsion resolution goes to the floor. … I’ve done the math over and over, and it doesn’t look really good.”
Santos is facing federal fraud charges and has publicly admitted to fabricating large parts of his personal and professional history.
Last week the bipartisan House Ethics Committee released a damning ethics report, revealing how the congressman spent campaign cash on botox, OnlyFans and other personal expenses.
It’s Chairman Rep. Michael Guest (R-Miss.) later introduced a privileged resolution to throw Santos out of the chamber after his committee.
A vote on the measure is expected after Thanksgiving weekend.
Santos did not respond to requests for comment from The Post.
