Alexis Mac Allister scored twice as Brighton cruised to a 5-1 win in the FA Cup third round against Middlesbrough.
The Premier League side travelled north to take on Michael Carrick’s men, and Pascal Gross scored after six minutes for Roberto Di Zerbi’s side. Chuka Akpom scored seven minutes to draw Boro level later but Adam Lallana scored just before the half-hour mark, Mac Allister notched two and Deniz Undav added a late bit of gloss.
Blackpool pulled off a surprise win over Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest, who went down 4-1 at Bloomfield Road.

Bournemouth were another Premier League team sent packing as they crashed 4-2 at home to Vincent Kompany’s Burnley. Ryan Christie and Dominic Solanke netted for Bournemouth while for Burnley Manuel Benson and Anass Zaroury both scored twice.
Fulham were able to hold off a potential upset when they squeezed past Hull City with a 2-0 away win at the KC Stadium with the first goal coming from Layvin Kurzawa and then an injury time effort from Daniel James.
There was a late victory for Championship side Sunderland. Tony Mowbray’s men looked to be out of the cup after Matthew Pennington scored on 81 minutes for Shrewsbury, only for in-form Ross Stewart to level on 92 minutes, and Luke O’Nien to score the winner two minutes later.
Sheffield United travelled south to The Den with goals from Daniel Jebbison and Jayden Bogle delivering a 2-0 win over Millwall to send them through to the fourth round.
Ipswich enjoyed a comfortable 4-1 win against Rotherham United at Portman Road, with goals from Cameron Humphreys, Conor Chaplin, Freddie Ladapo and Wes Burns all coming in the second half for the Tractor Boys.
Fleetwood Town beat Queens Park Rangers 2-1 to come back from Sam Field’s opener, with Fleetwood scoring through Aristote Nsiala and Promise Omochere, Chesterfield drew with West Bromwich Albion 3-3 after Brandon Thomas-Asante popped up on 93 minutes for a late equaliser.
Boreham Wood held Accrington Stanley to a 1-1 home draw. Ryan Astley scored after just six minutes for Accrington before Lee Ndlovu’s late leveller.
In a rare all-top-flight fixture, Southampton beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park with James Ward-Prowse and Adam Armstrong’s goals sealing a comeback win after Odsonne Edouard had opened the scoring, and Leicester City beat Gillingham 1-0 thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho as the Premier League team beat the team at the bottom of all four football leagues.
