Fans gush over Stanley Tucci’s pasta-for-breakfast recipe
The devil wears pasta.
In a new TikTok video, actor Stanley Tucci shared a recipe for a pasta casserole using leftovers, and didn’t hold back as he ate it for breakfast at a ripe 10 a.m.
Tucci, 62, filmed the video from his eclectic kitchen, explaining that he had leftover Farfalle pasta and had decided to repurpose it.
“I sautéed garlic, onion, panchetta, and some peas, and then put them into a little casserole dish, baking dish, with the pasta and then Besciamella – Besciamella sauce – and mixed it all up with little things of butter on top and parmigiano,” he said in the clip.
Wearing his signature glasses and a sweater draped over his shoulders, the “Searching for Italy” star stood by his toaster oven and slid out the perfectly baked, delicious-looking pasta.
He served it all up in an olive-green baking dish.
“It’s only 10 o’clock in the morning, and I think I’m gonna have it right now,” Tucci admitted as he flashed a smile.
In the caption of the video, Tucci wrote, “Breakfast, brunch or lunch? Not sure but it was f’ing delicious.”
In the comments section, fans ate up the recipe– and some even wanted to have Tucci himself for a snack.
“How am I supposed to date anyone when ik that Stanley Tucci exists,” one person wrote.
Another agreed, typing, “Sir, this is a thirst trap.”
Others admitted to trying the recipe, and one user claimed it was so delicious that it almost made her cry.
“Stanely I made this and I almost cried it was so good,” the viewer testified. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this.”
Someone else replied, “We are having this tonight! It’s so great!!!! Thank you 🙏 ❤️.”
In his 2021 memoir, “Taste: My Life Through Food,” the “Julia & Julia” actor revealed that he quietly battled oral cancer in 2017, which almost made him lose his passion and taste for food.
“There were times when I believed I would never ever be able to cook or enjoy a meal again with the people I love,” Tucci wrote in the memoir.
He showed off his fondness for food during his 2021 series on CNN, called “Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy,” where he explored different parts of the country and its unique cuisines.
He decided to undergo chemotherapy and radiation, which made him temporarily lose his taste, smell and saliva production.
“After a week of treatments, anything I was capable of putting into my mouth tasted like old wet cardboard,” he wrote. “A few days later everything tasted like the same old wet cardboard but slathered with someone’s excrement.”
As a result of the cancer treatment, the “Devil Wears Prada” star struggled with digestive issues and had to have a feeding tube put in his stomach for six months.
Thankfully, though, the star has come out the other side and is now cancer-free, but at the time, he wrote that he had extreme mouth sensitivity after the treatment, and had limited saliva. He was also more prone to choking.
“My illness and the brutal side effects of the treatment caused me to realize that food was not just a huge part of my life, it basically was my life,” he wrote.
Tucci’s first wife, Kathryn Spath, tragically passed away after a battle with breast cancer in 2009.
