‘Fart spray’ prank causes evacuation at Kentucky high school

This flatulence didn’t just clear a room.

A Kentucky high school was evacuated and several students were treated after someone unleashed fart spray on Tuesday, officials said.

Police, firefighters and EMS responded to Oldham County High School in Buckner around 11 a.m. in Buckner after receiving reports of a “strong gas odor” in the building, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials escorted everyone out of the school and at least seven students who reported feeling discomfort were evaluated by EMS. None of them required additional medical attention, and all students and staff returned to class, police said.

Detectives determined that there was no gas leak and that the strong smell emanated from a liquid substance a 17-year-old female student allegedly poured inside two trash cans. 

The sheriff’s office described the substance as a “non-toxic concentrated liquid product commonly advertised online for use in pranks.”

School officials referred to it as “fart spray,” according to local media outlet WAVE.

The incident remains under investigation and no additional information is currently being released, OCSD said.
