Flight attendant shares why you should never use toilet paper onboard

A flight attendant has revealed the grim reason you should never use the toilet paper in the bathroom.

TikTok user flightbae.b has shared secrets of the skies, as she works as a flight attendant based in Miami.

She explained the disgusting secret to her thousands of followers, saying that toilet paper is often pretty dirty.

She said: “Use the tissue paper as opposed to the toilet paper.

“When turbulence hits and little boys who are pointing and shooting, they kind of shoot everywhere.

“That usually ends up on the toilet paper so if you don’t want that kind of stuff in your nether regions, use the tissue paper.”

She added that the tissue towels were much better to use as they are placed higher up and less likely to be splashed.

She added: “It’s cleaner, so just use that instead of the toilet paper.”

You may also want to be careful what you do in the bathroom – one cabin crew member said they know everything you are doing in there.

The anonymous flight attendant told Buzzfeed: “The toilets are near where we sit.

“No matter how hard you try to cover up the fact that you’re taking a dump, it makes a different noise than if you just go number one, so we always know.”

Any nervous bathroom goers may want to try and use the toilet when crew are busy during service instead.

Erika Roth, a former flight attendant who flew with commercial airlines for several years, says there are two moments on a flight that provide the best time to go.

One thing you don’t have to worry about? Getting sucked into the toilet.

And you don’t have to worry about getting locked in the plane toilets either – as there is a secret latch that unlocks them from the outside.
