Florida highway driver ties giant dead alligator to car bumper
It’s a Florida highway tail gator.
A startled Sunshine State driver spotted what appeared to be a large dead alligator tied to the back of a Jeep SUV this weekend south of Melbourne.
The massive creature was knotted up from its shuttered snout all the way to its tail and did not appear to be alive, Click Orlando reported Tuesday.
The driver behind the vehicle, Karen Kress, snapped a photo of the terrifying sight.
Floridians are in the middle of alligator hunting season, leading some to believe that the gator had been killed and was being transported home.
From August 15 to November 1, those with valid permits from the state’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are allowed to hunt the reptiles.
More than 15,000 people apply for just 7,000 permits each year, according to Space Coast Daily.
There are an estimated 1.3 million alligators in the Sunshine State.
