Florida man allegedly stabbed pregnant girlfriend

A Miami man was arrested after allegedly stabbing his pregnant girlfriend and hitting her in the head with a frying pan, police said.

Thaddeus Davis, 27, was booked on Wednesday after police investigated a domestic violence incident that broke out on the night of Sept. 11 along South Dixie Highway, WPLG reports.

Miami-Dade Police were called to the scene the following day when they learned that Davis had gotten into a “heated argument” with his girlfriend, who was seven weeks pregnant with his child.

During the fight, Davis allegedly demanded to see her phone, and when she refused, police said he struck her in the head with a cooking pan and then grabbed a kitchen knife to stab her on the left side of her body.

Davis then took the victim’s phone and fled the scene, according to the police report.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition, where she identified Davis as her attacker.

The arrest report notes that although the couple has been together over the past year, they did not live together.

Davis was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with armed robbery, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery on a pregnant victim.

Davis is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
