Florida man steals ingredients to make screwdriver cocktail: video
A man who either hadn’t stopped drinking or was looking to hit the bottle early was caught on camera sneaking into a Florida apartment and stealing the ingredients to make a morning screwdriver.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Department said the unidentified intruder entered a secondary door of an apartment around 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 23 — Thanksgiving morning.
Surveillance footage shared by the department shows the booze thief, wearing a maroon shirt and blue jeans, quietly creak open the door and slip inside.
Moments later, he emerges with a bottle of, aptly, Florida’s Natural orange juice — about three-quarters full — and a handle of Svedka lemonade vodka in his arms, video shows.
He closes the door gingerly behind him and looks around, stumbling on his feet at one point before sauntering off.
Thoughtfully, he even turned the lights out before he left.
The total value of the theft was just over $35, police said.
The victim told investigators they hardly use the door the thief entered the apartment through and were not sure why it wasn’t locked.
The man also tried to open a door to the apartment across the hallway but it was locked and he left, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police have asked anyone who recognizes the man to contact the sheriff’s office.
