Forest Whitaker’s ex-wife, Keisha Nash Whitaker, dead at 51

Keisha Nash Whitaker, the ex-wife of actor Forest Whitaker, has died following a battle with anorexia. She was 51.

The Oscar-winning actor and the former model raised three daughters together: Autumn, 32, Sonnet, 27, and True, 25. The former couple were married for 22 years.

Their youngest daughter confirmed the devastating news on Instagram, writing a heartfelt tribute: “goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond. the most beautiful woman in the world … thank you for teaching me every single thing I know. I’ll see you in my dreams and I’ll feel you in my heart.”

The Post has reached out to Whitaker’s and Keisha Nash Whitaker’s reps for comment.

“Keisha battled anorexia for years,” a source told the Daily Mail. “And in 2014 she entered rehab in Chicago. Forest stayed by her side during those difficult times, but [soon after] he filed for divorce.”

Forest filed for divorce from Keisha in 2018, citing irreconcilable differences in his petition to the court.

The couple met on the set of the 1994 film “Blown Away,” in which Keisha played Forest’s love interest.

He proposed soon after, and the couple married in 1996 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

“He is very honest and sensitive and romantic,” Keisha told People in 1997. “He swept me off my feet — not with material things, more like the way he displayed his emotions.”

Keisha Nash was born in Boston and worked as a model, actress, film producer and entrepreneur.

She was once signed to Elite Model Management and Ford Models, and was Tommy Hilfiger’s first African American model.

She later worked as an actress, nabbing roles most notably in “Ben Harper: With My Own Two Hands,” “Proud” and “Kassim the Dream.”

Despite her success, Keisha was never impressed with her own celebrity.

“I have fun with it and I haven’t forgotten where I come from,” she told North Shore. “Sometimes someone at a party will make a big deal like `I went to school in France’ and I think, `Whatever! I’m here sipping the same champagne as you!”
