Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar in hospital with ‘bleeding around brain’
Former Manchester United and Fulham goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has been admitted to hospital with “bleeding around his brain”.
Ajax announced on Twitter that Van der Sar is in an “intensive care unit and is in a stable condition”.

The statement added: “Once there is more concrete information, an update will follow. Everyone at Ajax wishes Edwin a speedy recovery. We’re thinking of you.”
It comes weeks after Van der Sar, who was capped by the Netherlands 130 times, decided to stop down from his role as chief executive at Ajax.
