French Open 2023: Day 2 order of play and schedule – When are Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Cameron Norrie playing?
It was a captivating first day of action at the 2023 French Open, and Day 2 has just as much in store.
Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, British No. 1 Cameron Norrie and home hope Caroline Garcia are among those taking to the red dirt on Monday, with ambitions of making a deep run at the second Grand Slam of the year.
Alcaraz takes on Italy’s Flavio Cobolli third on Court Suzanne Lenglen, hoping to better his four-set loss to Alexander Zverev last year, while 10th seed Karolina Pliskova plays Sloane Stephens.

They will be seeking to join the likes of Aryna Sabalenka, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jessica Pegula and Andrey Rublev in the second round, having all registered wins on the tournament’s opening day.
Top men’s match – Novak Djokovic v Aleksandar Kovacevic
Djokovic has had a mixed clay season to date, but he has a wealth of experience of playing at Roland-Garros to call upon when he faces American Aleksandar Kovacevic.
Djokovic plays second on Court Philippe Chatrier.
Top women’s match – Caroline Garcia v Xiyu Wang
Garcia will have the crowd behind her on Chatrier as she takes on Xiyu Wang.
The 29-year-old – seeded fifth – faces a tough obstacle first up in the shape of China’s Wang, and will need to be on her game to progress to round two.
Garcia didn’t get past the last 32 in either Madrid or Rome, so will be looking for an upturn in form on home soil.

That leaves British No. 1 Norrie as the flag-bearer, with Jack Draper also in action on Monday.
Norrie takes on Frenchman Benoit Paire first on Suzanne-Lenglen, while Draper plays Argentina’s Tomas Etcheverry.
