French Open 2023: Unusual moment Miomir Kecmanovic warned for blasting away ball from another court
Miomir Kecmanovic was so frustrated at receiving a code violation for sending a ball from another court back where it came from, he called for the supervisor to arrive during his French Open first-round match.
The No. 31 seed was taking on qualifier Andrea Vavassori of Italy out on Court 8 and serving at 5-3 down in the fourth set when a ball dropped from another court, causing the point to be halted just after he had landed a delivery.
Perhaps understandably, his instinctive reaction was to immediately swat the ball away, back where it came from, but he did so emphatically with it sent flying back out of the court.

Kecmanovic was swiftly handed a code violation from the chair umpire, which was entirely in keeping with the rules on not blasting balls out of the court, not knowing where they could land.
The 23-year-old was left so baffled by the decision, though, he sat down in his chair mid-game after making his case to the umpire. He then proceeded to have the supervisor called out on to the court.
Eventually, play did continue after his chat with the supervisor, but it was a bizarre incident and one that is very rarely seen at any tournament, let alone a Grand Slam.
