Top men’s match – Carlos Alcaraz v Stefanos Tsitsipas

The world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz has enjoyed a straightforward run to the quarter-finals, dropping only one set so far as he bids to win the French Open for the first time in his career.

But standing in his way is No. 5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in Tuesday’s night session. Tsitsiaps has been playing some of his best tennis at Roland-Garros and this year the 2021 French Open finalist will be looking to go one stage further.

Alcaraz, who Tim Henman has labelled “massively intimidating”, holds a 4-0 head-to-head record against the Greek player so will feel confident heading into the last-eight clash.

Can Tsitsipas pull off a big surprise and knock out the tournament favourite?

Top women’s match – Elina Svitolina v Aryna Sabalenka

Elina Svitolina outlasted world No. 9 Daria Kasatkina 6-4 7-6(5) to reach the quarter-finals of her first Grand Slam tournament since becoming a mother.

The world No. 192 is enjoying her time back at Roland-Garros, but she now faces a tough test in world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka who is yet to drop a set at this year’s competition.

Reigning Australian Open champion Sabalenka has never reached the quarter-finals of the French Open before so enters new territory and shares a 1-1 head-to-head record with Svitolina.

But Svitolina has also never reached the quarters in Paris, setting up a tense encounter on Philippe-Chatrier.
